Six weekly, 90-minute live virtual group sessions.
A small-group learning environment limited to four participants
An individual intake session to establish goals, suitability, and participation needs
A comprehensive participant workbook featuring guided reflection and practical learning activities.
Development of a personalized tool and plan
An individual post-program integration session to review learning and identify next steps.
Who This Program is For?
Sustaining the Advocate (TM) is designed for lawyers who:
Are experiencing significant professional demands or prolonged strain
Are navigating challenging workplace environments or professional transitions.
Recognize that their current approach to legal practice may no longer be sustainable.
Want to establish clearer boundaries, supportive structures, and realistic professional expectations.
Wish to continue practising law- or thoughtfully reconsider their professional direction - without sacrificing their well-being.
Value an intentional, professionally informed approach to reflection, decision-making, and sustainable practice.
Participants are not required to make an immediate decision about remaining in their current role, changing employers, or leaving legal practice.
The goal is not to teach lawyers to tolerate unsustainable conditions. It is to help them identify and develop the conditions necessary for meaningful professional continuity.
About Your Facilitator
Erinma Abara is a Canadian lawyer with 15 years of legal experience across Ontario, Nunavut, and the Northwest Territories. Her professional background encompasses litigation, family law, Indigenous legal matters, and professional leadership. She also brings academic training in community health.
Through Returning the Advocate (TM), Erinma brings an interdisciplinary perspective to professional sustainability, combining an understanding of the demands of legal practice with a commitment to practical, participant-directed professional development.
An investment in Your Professional Continuity
You have invested years developing the knowledge, judgment, and professional capabilities required to advocate effectively for others.
Your ability to sustain that work deserves equally serious consideration.
Sustaining the Advocate (TM) is an invitation to approach your professional life with greater clarity, intention, and care - and to develop a way forward that recognizes both your professional commitments and your humanity. Register to join the November 16, 2026 cohort.
